Assisted Living Communities: Highlands Cottage & Bixby Cottage

The Highlands Cottage, overlooking Fish Ranch toward the Carmel Highlands, offers Assisted Living, and is also appropriate for those residents who are still independent and need no additional care. Most apartments have French doors to your private terrace, as well as gas fireplaces. Welcoming and cozy, the open areas offer a large, double-sided fireplace near the library and bakery.

The Bixby Cottage, so named as it bridges the other two cottages, is our entrance, where you’ll find a Concierge, Beauty Shop, Activities Salon, Dining, and apartments for Assisted Living or independent residents. Terraces and fireplaces are standard here as well.

Memory Care Community: Stillwater

Our third cottage is Stillwater, named for Stillwater Cove, and to convey the atmosphere Memory Care residents will experience. Delivering safety and security as well as a higher level of attention, support, interaction, and understanding, Stillwater is a refuge for those suffering from the confusion and anxiety inherent with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.

Assisted Living Amenities: Putting Green, Walking Trails & Massage

We invite our Residents and their families and friends to enjoy other amenities of The Cottages of Carmel, such as the Bocce Ball court, putting green, walking trails, organized activities, events, and outings, exercise programs, even massage therapy. Tai Chi, seated yoga, and other mind/body activities will focus on strength, balance, and a reduction in stress and worry.
